Local Band ‘Maverick Cinema’ to tour Vancouver Island

West Coast, folk rockers Maverick Cinema are setting out on a trip to play eight stops across the Island as a part of their Winter Tour. The band created a unique sound with lyrics that express their love of the west coast.

Maverick Cinema will be playing Saturday January 21 at the Old Firehouse Wine and Cocktail Bar from 7:00 – 10:00

“We have written songs that we are really passionate about and we want to play them to people” stated guitarist Spencer Hiemstra. “This tour is about playing our music in places people want to hear it”. Complimenting Marshal Dillabough’s lyrics and songwriting are Seth Recalma on bass, Spencer Hiemstra on guitar and trumpet and Peter Bird on drums.

The band released their debut EP, Sanctuary, in May of 2016. Sanctuary was recorded with with Mike Edel, and mixed by Juno Award winning Producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, New Pornogrophers, Yukon Blonde). After the release of Sanctuary, the band was able to successfully tour BC, and Alberta, as well as perform at Rifflandia Music Festival and Rock the Woods Music Festival this past year.
